HALAWET AL JEBEN

 

INGREDIENTS:

HALAWEH  INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 kilo Akkawi cheese.
  • 3/4 cup semolina( smeed).
  • 1/2 cup of water.

CREAM INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup milk powder and mix it with 1 cup of water.
  • 2 big spoons flour.
  • 1 cream packet.

SYRUP INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups of sugar.
  • 1 cup of water.



STEP BY STEP:
  1. Prepare first the cream by: boiling the milk first, and when it is boiled, add the cream packet, and then the flour, keep them until they get cold.
  2.  HALAWET AL JEBEN:
    a) Cut the cheese into pieces and put it in the water, and change the water from while to while until it gets sweety.
    b) Boil the 1/2 cup of water, then add the cheese, and keep mixing until it melts and becomes one lump, then add the semolina and mix very well.
  3.  Add some syrup(little bit) over the cheese.
  4.  Take a piece of the hot(halawet al jeben) and spread it on a tray by your hand and fill it with the cream, then roll it and cut it.
  5. Repeat this step until all the ingredients finishes.
  6. Garnish with pistachio.
